Two of the most special references of Bodegas Cornelio Dinastía triumphed at the 28th Concours Mondial de Bruxelles held in Luxembourg, one of the most important international competitions in its category. During 9 days, more than 300 jurors from different countries tasted the almost 10.000 wines registered.
The Gold Medal was awarded to Vega Vella s.TOP Reserva 2015. This wine is made with a careful selection of Tempranillo and Garnacha grapes from their own organically farmed vineyards located in Rioja Oriental.
It has aromas of ripe fruit very well integrated with the wood, which gives it a very original complexity and elegance. On the palate it is very balanced, with hints of ageing and the quality of the grapes.
The Silver Medal was awarded to Cornelio Emperador Reserva 2017. Made from a coupage of different bunches of strictly selected Tempranillo grapes, it is aged in new American oak barrels for 24 months, spending the same time in the bottle until it is marketed.
It has a cherry red cherry colour with tile tones and abundant tears. On the nose it is reminiscent of ripe fruit and the soft toasted notes of the ageing process with aromas of cocoa and vanilla. It is a complex, elegant and unctuous wine with a well-balanced structure.
Once again, the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles has become a showcase for the latest trends and changes in the world of wine. The evaluation process for each sample is one of the most rigorous in existence, ensuring that those who win the medals obtain an indisputable seal of quality.
