The wines of Bodegas Cornelio Dinastía continue to receive awards. The latest medals awarded place the Rioja winery among the best in the world.

In the Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA 2022) it has been awarded 5 medals. Among them, Cornelio Imperial Autor 2018 has won one of the highest awards in the contest. It has been distinguished with 97 Decanter points and the honour of being ‘BEST OF SHOW’, a medal that only 50 wines receive out of the 18,244 samples from 54 different countries tasted by the jury.

For its part, Cornelio Dinastía Crianza 2018 obtained a Gold medal and 95 points. Three Platas (silver medals) were also awarded to Cornelio Gran Duque 2016 (94 points), Vega Vella Graciano 2019 (93 points) and Cornelio Emperador Reserva 2017 (92 points).

Great scores obtained in the 19th edition of what is considered the “world’s leading wine competition” held in London, one of the most prestigious and important international competitions. Its jury includes the best wine experts (41 Masters of Wine and 13 Master Sommeliers, among others), and its evaluations enjoy international confidence due to its rigorous evaluation process.

ABOUT CORNELIO IMPERIAL AUTOR

This wine is made only with hand-picked Tempranillo grapes, selected and harvested by hand, from our own vineyards of more than 50 years old, planted in goblet-trained vines at an altitude of over 500 metres, with Atlantic influences.

In the winery it undergoes malolactic fermentation in new American oak barrels to maintain all the colour and structure. Subsequently, it is aged for a minimum of 14 months, also in new American oak barrels, and finally rests in the bottle for more than a year.

To the eye, its bright purplish-red tones with subtle ruby reflections stand out. On the nose, pleasant black and red fruit, with hints of coconut, vanilla and spices. On the palate, ripe fruits stand out with fine toasted notes and powerful tannins. It is a complex, elegant, unctuous and well-structured wine. Exquisite for pairing with red meat, game or long-aged meat dishes. Also as a dessert wine, with confectionery or chocolate.
